Which makes a sort of sense, and the version of the book that I have looks more like a core supplement than an Eberron supplemnt, and more closely resembles books like Races of Stone and Races of Dragon than eberorn does other Eberron books.
Being able to breathe I disagree with – there are tons of situations, even in official modules, where “impassable” barriers are created through the use of bodies of water, poisonous mists, buildings full of smoke, etc.

Agreed here as well. And expends a class feature on rather than getting something elsebut I agree this comes up rarely, same with food and drink. Here are my thoughts.
Races of Eberron also provides new substitution levels, prestige classesfeats, spells, magic items, equipment, and other options for creating characters for any campaign world. Technically speaking, the book does bring enough new to the table. After all, this book deals with all of the races introduced in the Eberron Campaign Setting, though not in any of the additional supplements.
Getting Perception and Survival at advantage would still be good and make a bit more sense. Like, mask of many faces has a lot more potential problems than just dispell magic due to its illusionary nature.

I mean, there are some things in the book that are interesting. He suggested that for anyone playing in an Eberron campaign, the book provides a lot of character options. For example, the Drow are quite unique in Eberron when compared to something like Forgotten Eberro, and having an equal amount of details as to why or how, would have been supremely appreciated. I feel like the temp rades may be a bit much for a short rest ability. Which is why I want them to be balanced. The bonus AC is gravy and most Barbarians take Athletics proficiency anyway.
